Prabowo Drops Tears, Pilgrimage to Seroja Atambua Heroes Cemetery

Jurnal Fakta. Presidential candidate number 02 Prabowo Subianto arrived in Atambua, Belu Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Thursday, morning. After arriving at AA Bere Tallo Atambua Airport, Prabowo and his entourage then went to Seroja Heroes Cemetery, Atambua. Prabowo also traveled to a number of tomb heroes from Belu Regency. Upon arriving at the tomb of Joao Da Silva Tavares, Prabowo then greeted the children of Tavares and sowed flowers at the tomb.

Tavares was a former Commander of the Integration Fighting Forces in East Timor. He was also a pro-integration or anti-independence militia, who was a close friend of Prabowo, while together in East Timor in the 1980s. Tavares is also a former Bupati of Bobonaro and Chair of the Bobonaro Regional Parliament, East Timor.

Prabowo also had a chance to chat for a while with the children of Tavares. After sowing flowers, Prabowo was seen shed tears. Prabowo then took a handkerchief and wiped away his tears. Furthermore, Prabowo and his entourage came out of the Seroja Heroes Cemetery to Atambua, to attend the Friends of Prabowo's missed meeting and Christmas with the Gerindra Party.

However, when they were about to leave, thousands of residents who packed the park's graveyard area tried to approach Prabowo to greet him. Prabowo also greeted one by one the people who were jostling. In fact, a number of small children were kissed and carried by Prabowo. Residents clapped and called Prabowo's name. About 15 minutes at the Seroja Heroes Cemetery, Prabowo then traveled to Atambua.
